On Friday September 23, the club announced a new senior men’s shirt sponsor, Bloomdale Construction, during their final training before the start of the Leinster League this weekend. In attendance were Bloomdale Construction’s Seamus Bradley, Birr RFC chairman Garech Doorley, senior men’s coach Adrian Hoary and the senior players themselves.
During the presentation, club chairman Garech Doorley thanked Seamus for his continued support of the club and team by sponsoring a new set of shirts and presented him with one on the night. Seamus have previously sponsored the senior men’s team, so the club were delighted to renew the partnership.
After the presentation, senior coach Adrian Hoary announced the starting squad for the weekend game and presented each player with their shirt while Garech also addressed a few words to the senior players and wished them the best for the coming season.
Senior men get bonus points
Senior men Birr RFC got their Leinster League campaign off to a flying start with a bonus points win over Arklow RFC the weekend before last.
While a tight first half with the home side at 5-3, Birr brought increased intensity to the game in the second half and increasingly caught Arklow at the break to finish the match 15-29 winners. It was a good opening performance in the competition with a lot more work for the team.
