GOOD DEEDS: Halfacre Construction helps The Haven raise $200,000 in fundraiser

Halfacre Construction Co.a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, was the $10,000 Silver Cape sponsor for the Farm to Table(aux) fundraiser for Le Havrean organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people with unique abilities.

The gala, held at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota on Oct. 29, raised approximately $200,000 for the nonprofit organization. Guests at the event dined on farm-to-table cuisine and enjoyed raffles, cocktail parties and an auction.

Donations will go to projects aimed at providing the best possible life for people with disabilities, including those in The Haven residential program.

To support Florida communities impacted by Hurricane Ian, Matamy houses donated $800,000 to the American Red Cross.

The check was presented on November 3 at the Wellen Park Welcome Center. Mattamy Homes is the parent company of Wellen Park, a planned community located near North Port, an area that was heavily impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Mattamy Homes is the largest builder of private homes in North America.

Bradenton Stillpoint Mission recently received two grants for its community outreach programs.

Publix Charities received $4,000 for the Benevolent Food Program, which provides basic sustenance to the neediest families in Manatee County.

The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund received $5,000 to support the Children’s Diaper Program, which distributes diapers and wet wipes to mothers in need in Manatee County.

Since 1998, Stillpoint Mission has reached out to disadvantaged people in our community for basic daily needs, including food, clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and limited financial assistance for utilities.
