Lyme-Old Lyme Food Share Garden Launches Second Annual Sponsor a Row Campaign

OLD LYME — The Second Annual Lyme-Old Lyme Food Sharing Garden (LOLFSG) Sponsor a line the campaign kicked off on October 1.

The LOLFSG is extremely grateful to the individuals, families, organizations and businesses who have sponsored the garden this season.

Volunteers donated over 700 hours and over 2,500 pounds of food to local food pantries.

Jim Ward, president of Food Share Garden, noted that the LOLFSG board is “already planning for the 2023 season and is confident it can double the garden’s production.”

The annual cost of maintaining a garden bed, from seed to delivery, is around $250. All money will go directly to running expenses of the garden including seeds/transplants, fertilizers, weed protection fabric. irrigation tape, electricity and tools.

As a thank you, every donation of $250 from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 will be recognized by a sign in the garden and on the LOLFSG website.
