Michelle Wie West defends LPGA tour after sponsor event no-show

Last weekend, the LPGA Tour season wrapped up with the CME Group Tour Championship, where New Zealand’s Lydia Ko took the win and the top prize of $2 million – the highest ever won in a women’s golf tournament.

However, the victory was overshadowed by the absence of players at a dinner hosted by CME Group. This led CEO Terry Duffy to say he was extremely disappointed that no player attended the event. However, Michelle Wie West, recently retired from the LPGA Tour, said she believes it was due to a misunderstanding.
