NASCAR: Daniel Hemric talks about ‘special’ Talladega sponsorship

In his final scheduled start of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, Daniel Hemric is expected to drive a CELSIUS-sponsored car for Kaulig Racing.

Defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Daniel Hemric competes full-time driving the No. 11 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series and is scheduled to race Saturday afternoon’s playoff at Talladega Superspeedway, the Sparks 300, chasing a second consecutive title.

He’s also set to make the eighth of his eight scheduled 2022 Cup Series starts with the team driving the No. 16 Chevrolet in this Sunday afternoon’s YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

He’s about to do it in a CELSIUS-sponsored Camaro ZL1.

Prior to joining Kaulig Racing in 2022, the 31-year-old native of Kannapolis, North Carolina had never had the chance to work with CELSIUS, the energy drink that features healthy energy formulas clinically proven to deliver significant health benefits to its dedicated consumers and runners. But he was well aware of their growing presence in NASCAR.

“I hadn’t worked with them in previous seasons,” said Daniel Hemric beyond the flag. “But myself being with different organizations before being here at Kaulig Racing for the 2022 season, I had seen CELSIUS, whether it was our local Walmart or just vendors around town.”

Hemric discovered the product on the race track.

“But the first place I heard about CELSIUS was on the racetrack,” he said. “I was driving past the Kaulig Racing transporters, as I said, while driving for other organizations, and I saw a lot of team officials and other PR people and just staff in the garage stop to get a CELSIUS out of coolers. by Kaulig Racing carriers.

“I thought it was always cool to see that CELSIUS had entered the sport and kind of created a long-standing relationship within Kaulig Racing. And now everyone in the garage knew that when they wanted their little pickup, CELSIUS was the place to go behind the Kaulig Racing haulers.

“Fast forward to this year, obviously Kaulig Racing maintained that relationship and continued to build that relationship with CELSIUS before I got here. I got here and kind of familiarized myself with the product, obviously j I had the opportunity to get my hands on them, and really just seeing how they grew and developed their relationship on this racing team and in our sport has been special to see.

“It’s cool to see them jump in the bottom of the pool, if you will, not only with myself, but they were a Justin Haley primary at Daytona, and see them do a second primary and the do with me is quite special.

Daniel Hemric hopes his and Kaulig Racing’s relationship with CELSIUS can continue to grow and that the brand will continue to invest in the sport.

“For me, any time you have a partner, not just a partner who has gone straight into the sport and sponsors at Cup level, a lot of the time you don’t see that partner sustaining, that it doesn’t feel like the teams did a good job for them pushing their product or just the ROI wasn’t great,” Hemric explained.

“I think that’s what’s really been crucial to the growth of the partnership between CELSIUS and Kaulig Racing. They continue to reinvest in our sport with our racing team, and because of that and the feedback, they continue to improving what they do year after year. It’s no small feat to sponsor a vehicle at the NASCAR Cup Series level, and now this is the second race, the first race with myself, that they have done at this level.

“Hats off to them for continuing to grow. It’s no different than any other partner, whether they come into the sport or stay in the sport, they always bring a ton of individuals to the track. racing and just have the opportunity to build more relationships.

“That’s the whole story. That’s why this partnership works and why we look forward to continued growth and development in the years to come.
