NHL hosts First Shift camp for kids, Flames sponsor

The NHL/NHL Players Association First Team Hockey Program offers young people the opportunity to play hockey for the first time, in a low-risk environment.

“It’s for kids who haven’t been in the minor hockey association before but want to try it out, and for parents who want their kids to try it out but aren’t sure about the costs of it. equipment and fees,” says Moose Jaw Minor Hockey Association Development. Coordinator, Tyler Thul.

“This program gives kids the opportunity to gear up head-to-toe with Bauer Hockey gear, and they get 6 sessions with skating coaches to develop their hockey fundamentals,” added Thul.

First Shift is open to children ages 6-10 who have never signed up for minor hockey.

The welcome event will take place on November 17 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The program is sponsored by the Calgary Flames and the entry fee is $229 plus tax.
