Last week, Producer & Roaster Forum (PRF) announced that he had confirmed a three-year multi-event diamond sponsorship with Cafe Mayorga. This sponsorship is the largest of its kind for coffee industry events held in producing countries.
Going forward, Mayorga Coffee will be the diamond sponsor for the next six PRF events (two per year). This will include PRF El Salvador, which will take place on March 16-17, 2023.
This sponsorship will support PRF’s strategic growth and means it can continue to host premier coffee industry events at its origin. Read on to learn more about sponsorship and what it means for PRF.

As the world’s leading originally hosted coffee industry event, PRF partners with brands whose vision aligns with its broader strategy. The belief is that by continuing to work with Mayorga over the long term, PRF will be better equipped to support coffee growers and drive green coffee sales.
At the same time, the event will continue to serve as a platform for producers to conduct key industry discussions – rather than being passive recipients.
PRF has worked closely with Mayorga Coffee for several years. The company has sponsored the last three events: Guatemala in 2019, Honduras in 2021 and Colombia in 2022.
Henry Wilson is the founder of FRP and Perfect Daily Grind.
He says: “I enjoy working with Martin as he constantly pushes us to improve, to do more for PRF and to focus on promoting the work of coffee professionals in producing countries. »
This sponsorship was confirmed before PRF returned to El Salvador. The first PRF event was held here in 2016, at a dry mill in the town of Los Naranjos.
Challenging traditional dynamics
PRF and Mayorga Coffee both focus on promoting Spanish-speaking Latin America as a center of knowledge within the coffee industry, as well as challenging the traditional dynamic between roasters and growers.
It’s something CEO Martin Mayorga has been talking about for a long time. Martin has spoken at past PRF events on common issues in the coffee industry and speaks frequently on other platforms about controversial topics that often go unanswered.
“The supply chain is more segmented than ever,” says Martin. “The only way to understand the realities of the industry is to ensure that the parties involved engage in dialogue.”
For Martin, the PRF presents an inescapable opportunity to address socio-economic issues in coffee producing countries, including poverty, lack of education and exploitation.
“In my opinion, the PRF is the best event for this engagement,” he says.
Henry explains, “We want to move the narrative towards empowering the farmer. PRF treats them as professionals and entrepreneurs, giving them the opportunity to network and show off that expertise.
“We want their voices to be heard,” he adds. “They should be active in important sectoral discussions and help pave the way for the coffee industry.”
As part of the sponsorship, the investment will be guaranteed for the Beca Mayorga – the event producer scholarship program.
At PRF Colombia, Mayorga Coffee sponsored tickets for approximately 500 producers who met certain criteria. Priority applicants included smallholder farmers, young coffee growers and women in the coffee sector.
By working more closely with Mayorga Coffee in the years to come, the program can evolve and expand to reach more professionals in coffee-growing communities.
Earlier this yearMartin said the goal of the fellowship is to “provide these producers with the tools they need so that they and future generations can help close the inequality gap in the sector.”
“It’s great to have a roaster supporting PRF with such a large investment,” says Henry. “This reflects Mayorga Coffee’s focus on showcasing leadership and knowledge in coffee-growing communities across Spanish-speaking Latin America.
“A long-term sponsorship like this means we are able to build a long-term plan to expand the impact of PRF,” he concludes.
PRF El Salvador will be held at the Salamanca Exhibition Center in San Salvador, El Salvador on 16-17 2023. This venue is the largest exhibition and convention center in the city.
The event expects to welcome thousands of attendees, including coffee professionals from Central America, international coffee roasters and other industry leaders.
