PS&E’s annual giving season, hosted by Papa Johns, returns with a series of holiday events

INDIANAPOLIS – Pacers Sports & Entertainment today announced the schedule of holiday events during this year’s giving season, delivered by Papa Johns. The annual program, part of the NBA Cares Season of Giving, is an exciting opportunity for PS&E to support thousands of Hoosier children and families during this very special time of year.

Here are the events and programs taking place during the 2022 giving season, delivered by Papa Johns:

TYRESE HALIBURTON’S COME TO OUR HOUSE DINNER SEASON OFFERING PRESENTED BY US FOODS AND PACERS FOUNDATION

To celebrate its 25th year of hosting this annual holiday tradition, PS&E will host 600 homeless men, women and children from central Indiana shelters at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a hearty holiday meal. Tyrese Haliburton will be the official host of this year’s dinner, presented by US Foods and the Pacers Foundation. Levy Restaurants will prepare the meal and all leftover food will be donated to Second Helpings.

The meal will take place in the entrance pavilion of Gainbridge Fieldhouse from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pacers players, coaches, alumni, broadcasters, Fever players, local media, Pacers Sports & Entertainment staff and event sponsors will help serve our special guests. Boomer, Freddy and the Pacemates will also be on hand.

In addition to food, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that include interactive games, a photo booth; balloon artists; makeup artists; cartoonists and others. When guests leave Gainbridge Fieldhouse, they will all receive a vacation pack that includes a variety of cold weather items, including a Pacers knit beanie, Indiana Fever ear headband, gloves, blankets, towels and Moreover !

To celebrate this World Giving Day, PS&E will be partnering with local nonprofits to amplify, support and educate our select community partners through our social media platforms.

BLOCK HUNGER, PRESENTED BY MHS

The Indiana Pacers and MHS teamed up for Block Out Hunger on Tuesday, November 29. Staff volunteers will travel to the Gleaners Food Bank to assist Gleaners2Go by purchasing shelves and assembling orders as part of the Gleaners curbside pickup program.

BIG TOY CONTEST PRESENTED BY JAKKS PACIFIC

For the 13e consecutive year, PS&E has partnered with JAKKS Pacific for the Pacers BIG Toy Giveaway. The two organizations will provide thousands of toys to more than 100 nonprofits across the state of Indiana to benefit children in need this holiday season. Additionally, the two organizations will be taking Boomer’s sled for toy giveaways throughout November and December in Ft. Wayne, Auburn, Princeton, Richmond, Rockville and Monticello.

This year’s BIG Toy Giveaway also includes a very special giveaway to war-affected children in Ukraine, with JAKKS and PS&E partnering with the World Food Program to send thousands of toys and clothing items to families in need. More details on this impactful partnership will follow separately.

Finally, a special in-game presentation (Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat) will take place on Monday, December 12 with JAKKS Pacific President Stephen Berman, Pacers President and CEO Herb Simon and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

BOOTCAMP SENIOR BOOMER

As part of the Pacers Fit Like A Pro program presented by Ascension St. Vincent and Kroger, Indiana Pacers mascot Boomer will visit Robin Run Village, a seniors’ community, for a special holiday edition of Boomer’s Boot Camp!

Boomer’s Boot Camp helps residents of these communities increase their heart rate, improve mobility, feel energized, and have fun, all to holiday-themed chat beats! Plus, Boomer will surprise residents with some holiday treats to get them in the holiday spirit!

The Pacers have teamed up with Dream Alive, Inc. to throw a dream Christmas for local kids. DREAM Christmas is a special holiday community service event that enables DREAM Alive (DA) Fellows to provide a “Christmas” to children and families in need across Indianapolis.

DREAM Alive students in grades 7-12 serve as official hosts welcoming children and their families. In addition to welcoming families to the celebratory event, each scholar is paired with a child in need, and they spend the month of November budgeting, shopping and wrapping gifts for that child. Think “Secret Santa”.

Pacers mascot Boomer, Indiana Fever player Destanni Henderson and members of the Indiana Pacemates will be on hand to celebrate with students, hand out goodies and offer other special prizes and surprises!

The Pacers partnered with the Indianapolis Fire Department to host Fill the Bell on Dec. 9 and 18, before each home game.

Fill the Bell is helping to fund next year’s Clothe-A-Child event, providing IFD firefighters with “stand up to the bell”. IFD would like members of the community to stop and say hello to the IFD firefighters and help next year’s children with your spare change.

Each year, as part of the IFD Clothe-A-Child program, children in need of help are assigned an IFD firefighter who helps them buy a warm coat, clothes for school and new shoes for school. winter. With their families, they have breakfast together (prepared by the firefighters), buy clothes and meet Santa Claus.

SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN

The Pacers partnered with the Salvation Army to host their Red Kettle Christmas campaign at Pacers home games on December 10, 12 and 14.

Fans are encouraged to donate their spare change to these iconic kettles stationed at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with all proceeds going to the Wheeler Mission Center for Women & Children and Salvation Army Corps Community Center – Eagle Creek.

SHAFT GIVING CONNECTION PACERS

PS&E and Pacers Connection have partnered with the Julian Center for the Giving Tree initiative.

The Giving Tree offers Julian Center families the opportunity to create their vacation wish lists, which are then placed on the Giving Tree for Pacers Connection families to adopt and fill their wish lists.

Plus, members of Pacers Connection, Boomer, and the Indiana Pacemates will visit the Julian Center for a holiday celebration, featuring treats, crafts, and cookie decorations and handing out Wish List goodies!

Pacers Connection is made up of Pacers Basketball wives and loved ones, including players, coaches, trainers, and more. who serve the community through their philanthropic initiatives.

On Monday, December 19, Indiana Pacers members Indiana Fever player Lexie Hull, Boomer and Freddy Fever, and the Indiana Pacemates will celebrate the holidays with the Pacers Holiday Extravaganza!

Local youth will be invited to SkyZone for an evening of food, fun and surprises! Each child in attendance will take flight at this extreme aerial sports park, get autographs and photos with their favorite players and mascots, and take home a Pacers/Fever Swag bag. As a special surprise, each child in attendance will receive a Simon Mall and/or Finish Line gift card to help celebrate the season!
