Qatar Charity welcomes sponsored children participating in the Street Child World Cup

At its headquarters in Doha, Qatar Charity (QC) hosted teams from Sudan and Bosnia and Herzegovina participating in the ongoing Street Children’s World Cup (SCWC).

The teams are sponsored under QC’s global orphan care initiative “Rofaqa”.
Sudanese Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakheet, Ambassador of Sudan Ahmed Abdel-Rahman Siwar al-Dahab, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Abdulah Skaka, Founder and CEO of Street Child United John Wroe, CEO of QC Youssef al-Kuwari and other officials were present.
“Today, you are part of a big family that includes 188,000 children from 40 countries, and hundreds of employees, who work here and around the world to enable you to have your right to education, to health, food and protection,” he added. Kuwari told the children.
He explained that the “Rofaqa” initiative has achieved remarkable success in helping tens of thousands of children realize their dreams and aspirations. He stressed that support will be continuously extended to children whenever they need help.
Al-Kuwari wished the teams from Sudan and Bosnia and Herzegovina success in the SCWC. He advised the children to focus on their studies and ambitions to build a better future for themselves, as well as for their families, communities and countries.
He thanked the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) for supporting the Sports for Development and Peace (SDP) initiative, John Wroe, the Qatar Foundation where the SCWC is held, and supporters and sponsors in Qatar.
Yousuf Abdulla al-Khulaifi, head of the child protection section in QC, expressed his pride in the efforts of both teams in preparing for the sporting event who are transmitting their voices to the world through an educational and cultural experience. significant.
Wroe praised QC’s cooperation in the SCWC, supporting orphans and children around the world in various fields. He described the SCWC as a World Cup of joy, hope and peace and said he looked forward to having more engagement with QC to bring children from other countries where it works, to the next edition in India.
Speaking at the event, Mohamed al-Shazly Suleiman, a child from the Sudanese team, thanked the sponsors and QC, and urged them to continue their support for the orphans. He indicated that he and his brother are sponsored by QC, which helps them to continue their education and live with dignity.
