The Blue Ribbon sponsors of the 59th Morobe show, Ramu Agri Industries Limited, pledge to continue their support until the show’s Diamond Jubilee next year.
Rail supported the show with 71,500K which went to sponsor the 56 traditional dance groups who participated on Sunday.
RAIL National Sales and Marketing Manager Harry Kaisa said that as blue ribbon sponsors, our biggest sponsor is the singsing bands
“This year, we have sponsored 56 singing groups from various parts of the province and some from outside the provinces,” he said.
“We decided to go mainstream and support singing groups because in every show you go to, these groups are like the pinnacle of every event.
“It’s a matter of tradition and culture.
“In the past there were over 70 bands, but given the short notice this year we were able to get 56, which is still a lot of bands and we’re proud to support the bands.”
He has confirmed their participation in the show next year and plans to make it different and more creative.
“Next year will be the Diamond Jubilee for the show and we will try to do different things for the show,” Mr. Kaisa said.
“This year we put up a photo booth and next year we’ll try to put something we’ve never tried before. A fun house for the kids, a family arena or other creative things.
“We try to give a reason why people should come and visit our booth and experience it.”
