Sagacity Solutions acquires the READ group

Data Solutions Company Insight Solutions acquired a data marketing and insights agency, READ group. The acquisition will provide customers with a one-stop-shop for clean, accurate and compliant data with insights.

Sagacity will provide a customer lifecycle proposition that spans from customer prospecting and marketing to customer management, billing, collections and retention throughout the customer’s lifetime and beyond.

Its proprietary software platforms and bespoke services help clients operationalize data from the moment a client has been onboarded – applying advanced analytics and machine learning to break down organizational silos that act as information barriers .

Ticket Tailor adds Gift Aid feature

Online ticketing company Ticketing added a Gift Aid feature for its charity customers.

This feature aims to make it as easy as possible for charities selling event tickets online with Ticket Tailor to claim and report Gift Aid.

Gift Aid can now be added to Ticket Tailor events in three steps:

  1. Accept donations using your event page
  2. Retrieve a Gift Aid declaration via your payment form
  3. Download a Gift Aid report from your “Orders” page

There are certain restrictions for events – only the donation can be eligible for Gift Aid, not the price of a ticket, as this is considered profit.

Ticket Tailor is also organize a free webinar November 3, all about Gift Aid. It will include how to claim gift aid from a charity event, how to claim gift aid upon entering a charity property, and how to export a gift aid report. Ticket Tailor will also answer any questions attendees may have and invite anyone interested but unable to register anyway and they will send a recording of the webinar once it is over.


Currensea is helping the Royal Society of Medicine launch its own debit card to collect donations

Royal Society of Medicine launched its own debit card allowing members to make charitable donations every time they spend at home or abroad. This new fundraising component and member benefit is made possible through the charity’s partnership with Currenseawho created a card linked to existing bank accounts.

The new Royal Society of Medicine card is available to all members and supporters who can now choose to donate to the Society when spending in the UK and overseas. Donations can be made by rounding up expenditure to the nearest 5p in the UK or from savings made on overseas transactions via the card. It also allows card users to save on every overseas transaction by waiving normal fees charged by banks and other card providers.

Members and supporters can choose to donate all or part of the savings they make when spending abroad. For example, a user spending $1,500 while visiting the US can opt to donate 50% of their savings – which would equate to over £20 – while saving money.

All donations made using the new Royal Society of Medicine card will support its mission to share learning and drive innovation in all areas of healthcare.


Propack will provide sponsorship outsourcing for Plan International UK

Third Sector Direct Mail Specialist Propack won a five-figure tender to provide four years of outsourced sponsorship business for Plan International UK.

Propack, which has worked with the charity on previous campaigns, will support the execution and distribution of five of its key sponsorship processes, with parcel post production volumes expected to reach over 100,000.

He was selected after a competitive bidding and pre-selection process, with the Plan International UK panel being “hugely impressed” with the direct mail team’s understanding of their requirements, as well as their proactivity and professionalism.

Propack’s work will see its team produce and manage a range of materials to engage sponsors, including sponsored child introductions, welcome packs, sponsored child letters and sponsored child updates.


ActionFunder wins Finance for Good award at Big Sustainability Awards

The Big Sustainability Awards, organized by The Southern Partnership for Sustainable Developmentdefends companies and public organizations that make a difference for the planet and reduce their environmental impact while paving the way for their industry.

This year’s awards, held at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton on September 22, saw over 100 sustainable businesses in attendance and record entries.

Zoologist, conservationist, photographer and TV presenter, Megan McCubbin was the awards host for the 2022 event, but fell ill with an insect just hours before. However, his father-in-law and co-presenter of BBC2’s Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch, Chris Packham CBE stepped in to organize the event on his behalf.

Sponsored by Salix Finance, the Finance for Good Award rewards a company that has used a financial model as a tool for sustainable development. The winner must have demonstrated leadership in developing financial models and tools that have produced measurable social, environmental and business benefits.

JustGiving Becomes Official Fundraising Partner of Brighton Half Marathon

The event will celebrate its 33rd year in 2023 and is organized by a Brighton-based HIV charity. The Sussex Lighthousefrom the early 1990s. There are over 12,000 charity places available and over £1 million are raised each year by its riders.

Charities are invited to register now and join the Brighton Half team for their official webinar on October 20 to find out about their plans for 2023, including the return of their youth and wheelchair races and how charities can benefit from becoming an official charity partner.

JustGiving’s Head of Partnerships for Events, Sean Taylor, will also share his top tips and best practices to help charities raise more by partnering with the event.
