Statement from Cruz on CDC’s vote to recommend COVID-19 vaccine to school children | US Senator Ted Cruz of Texas

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released the following statement regarding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vote to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the immunization schedule that states use to require routine vaccinations in ordering children to go to school.

“The CDC continues to make recommendations that ignore science, erode public trust, and target Americans’ health care freedom. Unfortunately, too many states will use this recommendation as a mandate to force children to get the COVID vaccine in order to go to school. This will result in discrimination against conscientious objectors and – especially in Washington, DC – against black school children.

“The CDC knows it, but doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter whether children’s education suffers, or whether children are at low risk for COVID-19, or whether 86% of children have already caught the virus, or whether the vaccine does little to prevent transmission. . All he cares about is a program that punishes dissenters. I will do everything in my power to fight this.

Senator Cruz has long been a champion of protecting students from ineffective and unfair COVID-19 vaccination mandates. He recently sponsored a bill to fight the implementation of a racist coronavirus vaccination mandate in DC schools. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Senator Cruz has led the fight against discriminatory COVID-19 mandates by introducing the first and most radical invoice ban federal vaccination mandates. Senator Cruz presented the Parental Rights Protection Act to prohibit the federal government and any entity receiving federal funds from requiring COVID-19 vaccines for minors. Additionally, he presented legislation End the Biden administration’s CDC mask mandate for all Americans, regardless of vaccination status. Senator Cruz led colleagues on amicus briefs against vaccine mandates on Navy SEALs and federal employees.
