Teddy bear toss scheduled for Austin Peay game – Dec. 16 – Murray State University Athletics

Murray State fans have a great chance to brighten up a child’s Christmas in 2022 by participating in the Max’s 641 Toy Toss which benefits the largest annual Max’s 641 Towing for Toys initiative.

The big night is December 16 when the Racers men’s basketball team renews the Battle of the Border game with rival Austin Peay at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. Tipping time is 7 p.m.

All fans attending the game are encouraged to bring new teddy bears or stuffed animals to throw on the floor at halftime. All teddy bears and stuffed animals will be donated to local children in need through Max’s 641 Towing for Toys. All toys thrown must be fluffy and soft in nature, with other toy donations welcome in the donation bins at the Upper-B and Lower-A entrances to the CFSB Center.

There are children in Murray County and Calloway who will not have the opportunity to enjoy Christmas, which makes this effort very important. The Towing for Toys effort has been a huge success for the community and in 2021 over 1,400 children in Murray and Calloway County have received a gift.

“Towing for Toys Inc. is fortunate to have partnerships with Murray State University and Racer Athletics, who have been with us since our inception in 2013,” said Monty McCuiston, owner of Max’s 641 Towing. “Without partnerships like this, along with community support and heartfelt generosity, we would not be able to accomplish the task at hand. We are extremely excited to continue our partnership with Racer Athletics by sponsoring the event. Teddy Bear Toss. It allows us to give the kids in our community the Christmas they deserve.”

“The Towing for Toys program has become essential in providing vacation assistance to families in our community,” said Calloway County Family Resource Center Coordinator Michelle Hansen. “We are extremely grateful for this partnership which is making a difference for children. Monty and his team make collaboration easy and efficient and allow Family Resource Youth Service Centers to focus on serving children in our schools and community. community.”
