US F1 Growth Worth Extra 50% in Team Sponsorship, Says McLaren Brown Boss | Sponsorship SportBusiness

According to Zak Brown, the F1 team’s chief executive, Formula 1’s success in growing viewership in the US and engaging young fans through its esports initiatives has enabled the McLaren team to increase its sponsorship “rate card” from 25 to 50%.

Talk to SportBusiness at last weekend’s British Grand Prix, the McLaren chief said: “We are at an all-time high in our partnership base. Probably half of our base is based in the US – Alteryx, Google joined us this year, Goldman Sachs we announced a month ago – these are companies that Formula 1 wouldn’t have been on the radar and that she is now because of [its growth in] United States.”
